Secure-NOK and IFE talks about safety during cybersecurity events

Secure-NOK’s Nina Hesby Tvedt and IFE’s John Eidar Simensen held the speech “Training is key to maintaining safety of operations during cybersecurity events” during the 2022 NFEA conference on Cyber Security.
For operations with the potential of damaging human life, the environment or disrupt critical infrastructure, safety always comes first. Cybersecurity events are just one of many types of incidents that can compromise safety. Yet, they present their own specific challenges, especially during initial response to the event: if security of a system has been breached, what else is affected? Are security barriers intact?
The speech was held in the traditional Grand Hotel in central Oslo and presented lessons learned from experiments simulating attacks. The experiments have been conducted in the Cybwin research project among others.
